Next book sale: May 6 at Hi-Wire Brewing

Our book sales are a great opportunity to meet other readers, learn more about what we do, and get great books at exceptionally low prices.

The Luncheon for Literacy is our largest fundraising event of the year. With over 400 people attending, this is a heartwarming opportunity for connections that raises awareness around the important work we do.

Signature Events

Adult Story Hour is a six-week series of once-weekly events held at Azalea Station in Wilmington’s Cargo District. Modeled after NPR’s Selected Shorts, each evening features local authors, artists, and entertainers reading short pieces they love (but didn’t write) to a live audience.

Previous Events

In the summer of 2025, CFLC was a benefitting non-profit for the Free Concert Friday series hosted by Eagle’s Dare. Each week features a different band and a chance to raise money for our programs.

The first ever CFLC art exhibit opened July 25, 2025 at ACME Art Studios. Featuring over 30 local and regional artists, the show was a massive success and a beloved experience for all.
