You can help raise funds to sustain CFLC’s adult literacy programs! Cape Fear Literacy Council’s Friends of Literacy hosts book sales throughout the year at locations throughout Wilmington and surrounding areas.
Hi-Wire Book Sale
Occurring twice a year, Hi-Wire’s book sales are growing in popularity with every event.
Location: 1020 Princess St, Wilmington
Dates: May 6 & December 9, 2026
Time: 5:00-8:00pm
Bring your new and gently used books to CFLC, then shop the sale in their taproom. With pizza, burgers, and ice cream within walking distance, it’s a great location for a night out with books!
Good Hops Book Sale
The beach called, and we answered. Come see us for summer fun.
Location: 811 Harper Ave, Carolina Beach
Date: Thursday, August 6, 2026
Time: 5:00-8:00pm
Bring your new and gently used books to CFLC, then shop the sale in their taproom. Just walking distance from Carolina Beach State Park, Good Hops offers disc golf, dog friendly shopping, and casual vibes.
All proceeds from book sales will support Cape Fear Literacy Council’s adult literacy programs. Books and puzzles are sold for between $1 and $3, with an array of titles and genres for shoppers to choose from.
