Volunteer Opportunities Sign-Up

Are you task-oriented and organized? Do you enjoy working alongside other change-makers? Volunteering with Cape Fear Literacy Council may be the opportunity you’re looking for! We offer numerous ways for volunteers to help fulfill our mission: to provide personalized education so adults can transform their lives and contribute to a stronger Wilmington. Our non-instructional volunteers help with mailings, covering reception, staffing events, and more. Sign-up to volunteer — and share with a friend!

Available Teams

EVENTS: Event setup, staffing, and break down for our annual luncheon and smaller events. Please be able to committ 8-12 total hours, per event (over multiple days)

ADMIN: Program reception. Greet visitors and provide program information. Answer phones and direct calls to staff. Light admin tasks. 9a-12p or 1p-4p, one to two days per week, 3-month minimum commitment preferred.

BOOKS COMMITTEE: Sort and scan book donations for our e-bookshop. No experience is required to join this team, and training is provided.

BULK MAIL: Sort, label, and assemble mailings and marketing materials. 2-3 projects per year.
