Back by popular demand, Cape Fear Literacy Council announces its 3rd Annual “Last Ticket Standing” 50/50 Reverse Raffle. Join us and Master of Ceremony, Alan Perry, at the Grand Prize Drawing on Monday, February 26, 1018, from 6 – 8 p.m. at Bill’s Front Porch Pub & Brewery at 4238 Market Street. Ticket price includes a Carolina BBQ buffet dinner for two guests and additional dinner buffet tickets may be purchased at the door for $15.00 each. There will be a cash bar at the event.
HOW A REVERSE RAFFLE WORKS:
Unlike a typical raffle, in a Reverse Raffle there is an elimination drawing. The owner of the last ticket drawn wins the Grand Prize, which is 50% of the total ticket sales. Two hundred (200) tickets will be available for sale at $100 each. The Grand Prize will be 50% of ticket sales, up to $10,000. Winners are solely responsible for any and all taxes due on the award.
Each ticket has a number from 1 – 200 on it. Throughout the evening, numbers are pulled at random from a tumbler. As each number is pulled, that ticket is removed from the display, thus eliminating that ticket owner from the Grand Prize drawing. The last ticket drawn wins the Grand Prize. Ticket owners need not be present to win the Grand Prize, but they must be present for consolation prizes.
Businesses, companies, and non-profit organizations may purchase a ticket or several people can share the cost of a ticket (see Official Rules below for full details). The ticket price is not tax-deductible. You must be 18 years or older to purchase a Reverse Raffle Ticket.
NEW IN 2018:
After 30% of tickets have been drawn, there will be one opportunity to “Buy Back In” at $250 per ticket. Also, there will be a “Lucky Loser”– one ticket from all eliminated tickets will be re-entered into the drawing when there are 20 remaining.
