NC Azalea Festival: Join CFLC for the MGC Parade Mile – April 9th at the Azalea Festival!

The Parade Mile will take place at approximately 8:55a on April 9, 2016 immediately before the Azalea Festival Parade. According to the festival’s website, the parade brings approximately 100K people to downtown Wilmington each year. The race will be broken down into several heats, include and encourage the participation of children, and the final heat will be participants in Azalea Festival garb, a fun mile with people in southern belle dresses and seersucker suits. The course will be an out and back through a portion of the parade route on 3rd street starting and finishing in front of the Grand Stands of the North Carolina Azalea Festival Parade. The parade will start shortly after that last heat. The 2016 race will be for the benefit of Cape Fear Literacy Council. We will select other local non-profit groups as the beneficiary in future years as we plan for this race to be an integral part of parade day for many years to come and want to focus on making a difference across the community through supporting various groups. For general questions about the race or sponsorship opportunities, please email Walt Rapp at more about the Parade Mile & Azalea Festival
