Cape Fear Literacy Council Announces “An Evening with Jeffery Deaver” – Sunday, October 20, 2013

Cape Fear Literacy Council will host “An Evening with Jeffery Deaver” on Sunday, October 20, at UNCW’s Burney Center Ballroom.

Jeffery Deaver is the #1 international best-selling author. His novels have appeared on best-seller lists around the world, including the New York Times, the Times of London, Italy’s Corriere della Sera, the Sydney Morning Herald and the Los Angeles Times. His books are sold in 150 countries and have been translated into 25 languages.

The author of more than thirty novels, two collections of short stories and a nonfiction law book, Jeffery Deaver has received or been shortlisted for a number of awards around the world, including the Steel Dagger and the Short Story Dagger from the British Crime Writers’ Association and the Nero Wolfe Award. He is a three-time recipient of the Ellery Queen Readers Award for Best Short Story of the Year and a winner of the British Thumping Good Read Award. He is a former journalist, folksinger and attorney with a journalism degree from the University of Missouri and a law degree from Fordham University.

Tickets to Mr. Deaver’s 6:00 p.m. presentation are $30 per person. Guests will enjoy a presentation from Mr. Deaver detailing the research and writing process for some of his most popular and intriguing novels. Mr. Deaver will also speak about the inspiration behind the creation of his most famous characters like Lincoln Rhyme, Amelia Sachs and Kathryn Dance. Our esteemed guest will also share exciting details about his new thriller The October List – premiering on October 1st. Additionally, guests of the General Admission Talk will be invited to share in a Q&A session with the author.

For our younger Jeffery Deaver fans, $15.00 Student Tickets are available. Student must present Valid Student ID at event.

This special VIP event at 7:30 follows Mr. Deaver’s presentation. Tickets are $75 per person and include: premium seating for the 6:00 p.m. presentation, drinks and hors d’oeuvres at the VIP Reception, meet-and-greet and photo opportunities with Mr. Deaver. Mr. Deaver will read from his new novel, The October List. Additionally, autographed copies of The Kill Room and The October List will be available.
