We have climbed the alphabet mountain, my student and I, but the journey has not been what I expected. I may be able to help with the skills of literacy, but I am being taught the skills of life.

Individual Tutoring - Each One; Teach One

One on one tutoring is our core adult literacy program. This program provides free, confidential and individualized tutoring to adults seeking to improve their literacy skills in reading, writing and math. Services are provided by trained volunteers. The Council's staff, training team and resource materials provides continuous support to the student and their tutor. Study rooms are available in-house for tutoring sessions five days a week. See schedule below.

Small Classes

From time to time workshops on specific topics - job skills, buying a house, writing techniques are examples - are available free to our adult students.

Computer Learning Lab: Independent Learning

CFLC students who seek to improve their literacy, numeracy and technological skills work independently using specialized learning software under the supervision of a trained volunteer. The Computer Learning Lab is free and open to students on a first come, first served basis.
